Tournament Guidelines & Parking Passes

St. Jude Classic Guidelines
For Southwind Property Owners

JUNE 4-10, 2012
TOURNAMENT HOURS: 6 a.m.-6 p.m.

1.   Parking Passes: During tournament hours, only vehicles displaying a tournament parking credential (hang tag) will have access to the Southwind development and be allowed to park on the streets.  These hang tags are only good during tournament hours. Guests entering Southwind after tournament hours will be required to follow the posted access control policy.

Residents are strongly encouraged to use the hang tags to more easily identify their personal vehicles to the traffic security personnel, and speed up the entry process.

Click to download a Parking Pass Order Form. Please return the completed form to Keith Collins Company for fulfillment. Your hang tags may be picked up at the front gatehouse one full business day after they are requested.

Four types of “guest” parking hang tags will be utilized this year: “All”, “Mon.-Fri.”; “Sat.”  and “Sun.”  In addition, “guest” hang tags for Winderly (Blue), The Fairways (Red), Club Breeze (Yellow), The Island (Purple) and Windemere (Green) must have the appropriate colored sticker. All other areas will have a black sticker. Access to any of these areas is determined by the color of the sticker.

2. Trash Collection: Trash and Recycling pickup on the Monday of tournament week will be as normal. The Thursday collection will be after tournament hours. Waste Connections will use multiple trucks to accomplish the collections in a smaller window and will begin collection around 6pm. To benefit the neighborhood appearance, residents are requested to store all cans at their earliest opprtunity following collection.

3.   Street Closings:  Two streets that bisect the golf course will be closed during tournament hours:
  •  Players Club Parkway, between Pi Kappa Alpha’s headquarters and Lincoln on the Green apartments
  •  Tournament Drive, south of Classic Drive

4.   No Parking Zones: No parking is allowed on Tournament Drive or Players Club Parkway during tournament hours.

5.  Emergency Vehicle Access: In the event emergency vehicles have to gain access to the property, parking will be restricted to one side of the street on all residential streets. “No Parking” signs will be posted on all streets and illegally parked vehicles are subject to being towed at the vehicle owner’s expense.

6.   Construction Activity:  SRPA by-laws forbid construction activity – both interior and exterior – during tournament hours.

7.   Will Call:  Homeowners may utilize the SJC’s Will Call service to leave parking passes, etc. for pick up by their guests. This service is open from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. (Mon.-Fri.), 7 a.m.-4 p.m. (Sat.), and 7 a.m.-2 p.m. (Sun.) and is located at Springs at Southwind Church, 8180 T&B Blvd.

8.   Access to Golf Course: As at any other major sporting event, all persons entering tournament grounds must have the proper credentials. Tickets may be purchased in advance of tournament week at the SJC office in the clubhouse or by calling 748-0534. During tournament hours, tickets are available at most gates.

9.   Commercial Ventures and Signage: SRPA covenants forbid commercial ventures and/or signage on the golf course. This would include public hospitality tents, lemonade stands, etc.

10.   Inclement Weather: In case of threatening weather, sirens will sound.  Seek shelter (your home) immediately.

11. The Following Articles are Forbidden on Tournament Grounds: Backpacks, coolers, radios, televisions, signs, ladders, bicycles, skateboards, in-line skates, rolling skates, pets, weapons, cell phones, audible beepers,  and cameras or other recording devices. (Cameras are allowed Monday-Wednesday only.)

12. Towing of Illegally Parked or Improperly Tagged Vehicles: The SRPA has entered into an agreement with a towing company in order to remove illegally-parked vehicles. All vehicles to be towed will be tagged prior to towing and time the vehicle was towed will be recorded. The guards at the various checkpoints in Southwind will have cards with the towing company name and telephone number.

13. Neighborhood Appearance: We really want Southwind to look its best during the tournament so we encourage everyone to put their best foot forward by having your home’s landscaping reflect the showplace that Southwind is. If for any reason you are not able to take care of your lawn and flower beds the week before the tournament, please notify the management company at 901-753-4170, ext.102 or 108. We will have crews on hand ready to make the finishing touches and we can assist you for a nominal charge.

Trash Cans

As a Reminder…

On non-collection days, containers should be stored in such a manner so as that they cannot be seen from adjacent and surrounding properties. Please keep containers out of sight on non-collection days.

Storm Drains

All residents are asked to please refrain from putting materials of ANY type down the storm drains.

Grass trimmings, leaves, and other debris clog the drains. This can, and has in the past, caused street flooding, possible damage to yards, and added expense on the Association when the drains have to be cleaned out.

Please make any contractors you use aware of this as well.
